Using the Specifier Wheel

John needs to specify Tactile Ground Surface Indicators on the public building he is currently working on. He picks up the Specifier Wheel he recently received from DTAC. The area in front of the steps of his building is stone so he spins the window of the Specifier Wheel within the TYPE 1 substrate section of the outer ring step 1.

John decides that his substrate is light so he moves the window so that it is positioned within the light half of the second ring step 2.

He looks at the choice of the CLASSIC, RIBBED and COLOURMAX styles that are revealed in the window and decides that the RIBBED style of DTAC TGSIs would nicely complement the contemporary design of the building while also offering a high level of slip resistance step 3.

John looks in the window and sees that the product code for this particular TGSI is BST-SS step 4.

Finally he goes to the DTAC website and enters the code revealed in the window to see the TGSI’s product page. He downloads the product specification, opens the PDF in Adobe Acrobat Reader and copies the text to his specification documents step 5.
