Plastics Industry Manufacturers of Australia (PIMA)
DTAC is an associate member of The Plastics Industry Manufacturers of Australia (PIMA). DTAC has adopted the association’s vision to ‘foster a vibrant, efficient & innovative plastics industry contributing to the manufacturing base of the Nation to provide future opportunities for all stakeholders.'
In addition to this shared ethos and with particular attention to tactile indicators and pedestrian slip prevention, DTAC undertakes perpetual research and development of polymers and tooling involved in the prototyping and production of such products.
As a member of PIMA, is actively engaged in the distribution of its ongoing development and research findings. Industry promotion R&D finding includes but is not limited to, the selection of material, moulding and tooling techniques, and final product application. Our plastic and polymer investigation relates primarily to the use and application of tactile indicators and pedestrian slip prevention devices to improve the quality in these unregulated industries.
DTAC’s current research involves UV stabilisation, colourfastness, thermal stability and the regulatory requirements of low Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) in Green Building. These issues are critical for the legal requirements of luminance contrast, slip resistance and product life cycle for compliance and environmental issues surrounding the use and governance of polymers in tactile indicators and pedestrian slip prevention products.
